Day 1: Arrival in Paro
Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and acclimatizing to the altitude. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll around Paro town and explore its charming streets.
Day 2: Paro Sightseeing
Today, embark on a cultural exploration of Paro. Visit the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang), perched precariously on a cliffside. Explore Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan. In the evening, attend a traditional Bhutanese cultural show.
Day 3: Paro to Genekha
After breakfast, drive to the starting point of the Dagala Thousand Lake Trek at Genekha. Begin your trek with a gradual ascent through dense forests of oak and rhododendron. Arrive at your campsite in Genekha and enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by your trekking crew.
Day 4: Genekha to Gur
Today’s trek takes you through alpine meadows and pristine forests as you ascend towards Gur. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Arrive at Gur and set up camp for the night, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty.
Day 5: Gur to Labatama
Continue your trek towards Labatama, passing by several crystal-clear mountain streams and grazing yaks. As you ascend higher, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Arrive at Labatama, your campsite for the next two nights, and enjoy a well-deserved rest.
Day 6: Labatama (Acclimatization Day)
Take a rest day to acclimatize to the high altitude and explore the surrounding area. You can opt for a short hike to one of the nearby peaks for panoramic views of the Dagala region. Alternatively, relax at camp and soak in the serene mountain atmosphere.
Day 7: Labatama to Panka
After breakfast, begin your trek towards Panka, crossing several high mountain passes along the way. Marvel at the vast expanse of alpine meadows dotted with colorful wildflowers. Arrive at Panka and set up camp amidst the stunning natural surroundings.
Day 8: Panka to Talakha
Today’s trek takes you through rhododendron forests and across picturesque mountain ridges as you descend towards Talakha. Along the way, keep an eye out for native wildlife such as Himalayan blue sheep and musk deer. Arrive at Talakha and set up camp for the night.
Day 9: Talakha to Chamgang
Continue your descent towards Chamgang, passing through quaint Bhutanese villages and terraced farmlands. Enjoy the tranquil beauty of the countryside as you trek along mountain trails. Arrive at Chamgang and transfer to your hotel for a comfortable night’s rest.
Day 10: Chamgang to Thimphu
After breakfast, drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Spend the day exploring Thimphu’s cultural attractions, including the Tashichho Dzong, National Memorial Chorten, and Simply Bhutan Museum. In the evening, stroll around Thimphu’s bustling streets and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 11: Thimphu to Paro
Drive back to Paro after breakfast, enjoying scenic views of the countryside along the way. Upon arrival in Paro, visit the Paro Dzong and stroll along the picturesque Paro River. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner to celebrate the completion of your trek.
Day 12: Paro Exploration
Spend your last full day in Bhutan exploring Paro at your leisure. Visit local markets and handicraft shops to pick up souvenirs, or simply relax and soak in the peaceful ambiance of this charming town.
Day 13: Departure from Paro
Transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. Bid farewell to the Land of the Thunder Dragon, taking with you unforgettable memories of your Dagala Thousand Lake Trek adventure.
